Ideal SimCity Tax Rates

by Jamie Ramsey of the SimNation Guild

  • Taxes can have a positive, negative, or neutral effect on Happiness
  • Each wealth level responds slightly differently to tax rates in terms of Happiness
  • In order to have a Positive effect on Happiness taxes must be LW 7%, MW 6%, HW 5% or Lower
  • In order to have a Negative effect on Happiness taxes must be LW 13%, MW 12%, HW 11% or Higher
  • Taxes between LW 8-12%, MW 7-11%, and HW 6%-10% has no effect on Happiness.
  • Therefore setting taxes to 12%, 11%, and 10% will not make Sims Happy or Sad, but will generate the most revenue with the least impact.
  • To prevent a certain wealth level from moving in simply set taxes to 20%

    4. Good catch. That 12% in the middle of the bottom row should have been 11% as well.

I never missed up with Tax, but I think that it is a part of the game so I will get benifit from it by using this strategy (12-11-10)

  6. I am very late to this topic, but isn't it weird to tax the lower class more? I had assumed the opposite lol
